CCHP-N Certification
CCHP-N certification makes a difference—to the patients whose care is provided by certified correctional nurses, to employers who desire top-notch nurses on staff and to the nurses who attain the credential.
NEW! The CCHP Board of Trustees has voted to expand the CCHP-RN program to include all levels of nursing practice, and, starting February 25, will begin offering a CCHP-N credential that replaces the CCHP-RN. The CCHP-N recognizes the shared core knowledge essential across all levels of nursing practice. This expansion reflects the vital contributions LPNs and LVNs make in correctional health care—and throughout the broader health care system.
This change also supports NCCHC’s mission to elevate quality and practice across the field. All exam questions have been rigorously reviewed by the CCHP-N Subcommittee to ensure they are appropriate for all nursing licensure levels and remain fully within each license’s scope of practice.
This specialty certification for nurses recognizes CCHPs who have demonstrated the knowledge necessary to deliver specialized nursing care in corrections.
Are you eligible for a CCHP-N?
Applicants must have a current CCHP. CCHP-N certification requires the completion of an application and a passing score on a two-hour, proctored, multiple-choice examination.
