In Memorium: Former NCCHC Board Chair Charles Meyer, MD

Dr. Charles Meyer, who represented the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law on the NCCHC Board from 1987-2017, died on December 26. Dr. Meyer served as Board Chair for a one-year term in 1997-1998.

He was Chief of Psychiatry Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center Augusta, Associate Professor Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior Medical College of Georgia, a Distinguished Life Fellow, American Psychiatric Association; Diplomate, American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology; Diplomate, American Board of Forensic Psychiatry, He served as chair of Correctional Medicine Committee, Medical Association of Georgia and on the Board of Directors of the Richmond County Medical Society. Dr. Meyer was a retired Naval Captain, Medical Corps USNR having served 37 years. He had the honor of being an Olympic Torchbearer for the 1996 Atlanta games.
