The NCCHC Foundation has received a donation from Falcon Correctional and Community Services to pay for five people in the field to obtain their CCHP certifications as a scholarship program.
Becoming a Certified Correctional Health Professional shows dedication to correctional health care, the mastery of NCCHC standards, and the ability to apply them to support the quality of patient care. It is the most widely recognized certification for correctional health care.
The scholarships include the CCHP application fee, a copy of NCCHC Jail or Prison Health Services Standards, registration to an on-demand webinar or preconference seminar (if attending a conference) to prepare for the exam, and the exam registration fee for the first exam attempt.
Eligibility (must meet all three):
- Currently working in correctional health care for at least one year, providing direct care
- Have never received CCHP certification, not a current applicant/candidate
- No access to financial resources/company benefits that pay or reimburse for CCHP applications
Requirements:
- Scholarship recipients must complete their CCHP applications by submitting a resume and license (if working in a position where licensure is required) or diploma or transcripts that meet the minimum requirement for their current position.
- Applications must be completed within three months of the date the scholarship is awarded, and the exam must be taken within six months of the date the CCHP application is completed.
The application deadline is May 17, 2024 at noon (CDT).
