NCCHC Welcomes New Class of Surveyors

Fifteen correctional health professionals have completed the training necessary to become surveyors for NCCHC. They are:
Lemuel Cabahug, MSN, CPHQ, CCHP-RN
Karen Dorse, MSN, MSHS, CCHP
Heidi Ewing, RN, CCHP-RN
Toni Hackney, MSHI, RN
Heather Koroma, DDS, CCHP
Tim Lanquist, CCHP
Rebecca Mack, MS, RN, CCHP
Brian Murphy, MSN, MBA, CCHP-A
Michael Neeki, DO, MS, CCHP-P
Anu Perumattam, MSN, PMHNP-C, CCHP
Carlos Quezada-Gomez, PsyD, MBA, CCHP-MH
Cynthia Sparing, RN, CCHP-RN
Sandra Violette, MSW, LADC
Deitra Watson, PhD, APRN-BC, CCHP
Ricardo Willis, MBA, CCHP
The Accreditation team has created a 12-hour training program to ensure that all surveyors have a common understanding of the NCCHC surveyor program and NCCHC Standards. In addition, all surveyors must have or obtain a CCHP within one year of training.
This new class of surveyors will shadow experienced surveyors, and conduct and lead surveys as they become fully qualified, following the medical education model of “see one, do one, teach one.”
“Interest in accreditation is surging and NCCHC is working hard to staff and conduct surveys for all the facilities around the country who have applied,” says Amy Panagopoulos, MBA, RN, vice president of accreditation. “Surveyors find helping correctional facilities improve the quality of care to be incredibly rewarding. We encourage anyone with experience in the field to contact us at accreditation@ncchc.org.”
