Champion Change With Us and Double Your Impact

As the year comes to a close, we’re reminded of the extraordinary strength and resilience of those who champion change in the face of immense challenges. Today, we invite you to become a Change Champion by supporting the NCCHC Foundation’s mission to uplift health care for incarcerated individuals by focusing on workforce development, reentry programs, and education for our field.

Join us in supporting initiatives that support the future of correctional health care. Your gift, matched dollar-for-dollar up to $25,000 by NCCHC, will help us reach our $50,000 goal and drive impactful programs forward. Your contribution will help us provide scholarships, career development opportunities, and our reentry initiative.

In our year-end campaign, “Be a Change Champion,” we’re inspired by the next generation of correctional health care professionals like Tonisha Taylor. Raised by her grandparents while her mother navigated incarceration, Tonisha stepped up as the backbone of her family at a young age. When her grandmother passed, she became the guardian of her four siblings, balancing college, work, and the weight of keeping her family together.

Today, she is a licensed social worker and a dedicated mother, using her experience to advocate for others. Through her contributions to “Black Children of Incarcerated Parents Speak Truth to Power” and her work with Shine A Light NJ, a nonprofit she founded with her siblings, Tonisha empowers children affected by parental incarceration. Tonisha was a recipient of a scholarship to attend the NCCHC Spring Conference on Correctional Health Care. About her experience, Tonisha says: “Attending the NCCHC conference in St. Louis was such an enriching experience. I’m grateful for the opportunity to connect with professionals who are deeply passionate about correctional health care.”

This year, we ask you to join us as a Change Champion. Together, let’s champion change and build a brighter future in the world of correctional health care.
