CCHP Program on Track for a Steller 2024

The CCHP program released the list of newly certified certified correctional health professionals. With 160 professionals earning their CCHPs in the second quarter, the number of new CCHPs for 2024 totals 449. At this point in 2023, the program also had 449 new CCHPs and ended the year with the most new CCHPs in the program’s history.

Specialty certification was earned by six mental health professional (CCHP-MH), four clinical providers (physician, PA, nurse practitioner – CCHP-CP), and three registered nurses (CCHP-RN).

Matissa Sammons, vice president of certification, commented, “The program had an excellent second quarter. We offered the education and the exam at the American Jail Association conference this year, which yielded five new CCHPs. The importance of correctional health care to the custody side can’t be overestimated.”

The CCHP board of trustees congratulates them all. The certifications were effective July 1, 2024.
