NCCHC Offers $25,000 Match for Donations to the NCCHC Foundation

To meet the need to build the future workforce in correctional health care, the NCCHC Foundation has launched its fourth quarter fundraising campaign. Donations to the Foundation support scholarships for students and early career professionals to attend NCCHC conferences, learn about the importance of quality patient care, and get connected with experienced professionals in the field.

With the help of individual donors and corporate partners, the Foundation has awarded more than 120 scholarships to NCCHC in-person and virtual conferences since its inception.

NCCHC will match donations made to the NCCHC Foundation up to $25,000 through December 31.

“Our goal is to show our scholarship winners the potential of a career in correctional health care and to bring more young people to the field. NCCHC hopes to spur as many individuals and companies in the field to support our efforts through this match and to hopefully double the number of participants in 2024” said Deborah Ross, CEO. “I am grateful that the NCCHC Board has shown its commitment to this important initiative.”

Shaniqua Marsh, LPN, who is studying for her RN, attended the National Conference on Correctional Health Care in 2023. She said “This scholarship experience was a transformative journey that provided not only financial aid but also a supportive community and invaluable connections. It was a profound and deeply enriching opportunity.”

Another National Conference participant, doctoral student Satia Kavanaugh Vanderloop, MS, LPC, called the conference amazing and said that she appreciated learning from experts, connecting with passionate professionals, and creating friendships with other scholarship winners.

With your help, we can double the number of scholarship winners in 2024. Donations of all sizes are welcome. Will you help us with a donation today?
