NCCHC Foundation Shares National Conference Highlights

By Susan Schultze, executive director, NCCHC Foundation

Thank you for helping to make the NCCHC Foundation’s National Conference the best experience yet!

I am thrilled to share that the Foundation sponsored 13 scholars representing medical and mental health, nursing, and administrative roles. These scholars joined us to learn, connect, and soak up the camaraderie and knowledge that you all bring to the field and to the conference. The competition for these scholarships is rigorous – more than 700 applicants resulted in these 13 attendees!

This field is incredibly demanding. It requires each of you to bring your best, to be the most compassionate in some of the toughest environments. Thank you for all you do, and for your support of the correctional health care community through the NCCHC Foundation.

Hear about the impact an NCCHC conference scholarship can make in this testimonial from our Spring Conference scholars.

Thank you also to all those who participated in our first-ever online auction. You made it successful and fun with your energy and good-natured outbidding of one another. The items with the most and highest bids were a package of four bottles of hard-to-find bourbon from Buffalo Trace, the nation’s oldest distillery, plus a gorgeous set of bourbon glasses, and a weekend in Denver, the Mile High City. We are looking forward to hosting this again in the fall of 2024. Special thanks to our online auction sponsor, Physician’s Correctional USA, for helping to make this initiative so fruitful.

The NCCHC Foundation exists to support you and the people you treat in this incredibly important work. We believe – as you do – that correctional health IS community health. We are grateful to be your partner in this effort!

Join us in creating more scholarship opportunities.
