NCCHC Conference “Shines a Light” on Mental Health Care

The NCCHC Mental Health Care Conference will take place July 15-16 in Washington, DC. And, just as the Washington Monument shines a light over the nation’s capital, the conference supports correctional mental health professionals who serve as beacons of strength and hope for their patients.

The conference will support correctional mental health professionals with ideas and insights from clinicians, academics, and administrators from a variety of backgrounds who come together for this unique two-day gathering.

The conference features 40 sessions, up to 17.5 hours of continuing education, and the opportunity for mental health professionals in correctional settings to network with others facing similar challenges.

Sessions of special interest include the following:

  • Achieving Excellence in a Behavioral Health Program Through CQI
  • Adapting Mental Health Care Practices to Manage Resource Strain
  • Applying New Neuroscience to the Diagnosis and Treatment of Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Behavioral Health Supports for Successful Reentry
  • How to Start and Grow a DBT Program
  • Implementation of Extended-Release Buprenorphine in a Rural Jail
  • Keys to a Successful Jail-Based Competency Restoration Process
  • Moral Resilience in Correctional Health Care: Strive to Thrive
  • Substance-Induced Mental and Sleep Disorders

On July 14, attendees can attend a refresher course on NCCHC Mental Health Standards and take the CCHP exam on-site.

The conference will take place at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill. Attendees who register by June 16 save up to $75. For more information, visit ncchc.org/mental-health-conference.
