Welcome to New Senior Staff

NCCHC welcomes two senior staff members to key positions within the organization.

Richard Forbus, CCHP, has joined NCCHC as vice president of program development. In this role, he will work with correctional facilities to optimize their health care services through NCCHC’s quality programs and services. Forbus is an inspiring leader with more 25 years of experience in corrections, most recently as corrections captain with one of the largest jail systems in the country. There, he was responsible for institutional administration and operations including medical and mental health care, accreditation compliance, policies and procedures, training, budgeting, and personnel management. Forbus is certified as a CCHP and has also worked as a consultant for NCCHC Resources, Inc. Previously, he served in the United States Marine Corps as a military police corrections specialist.

Susan Schultze is the new executive director of the NCCHC Foundation, the organization’s philanthropic arm, bringing to the role more than 20 years of nonprofit experience and expertise in philanthropy and fundraising. Her background includes director-level positions with large national organizations including Make-A-Wish Foundation and Ronald McDonald House Charities, as well as the Stevenson (High School) Foundation. In these roles, she proved to be a successful strategist and analytical thinker who exceeded revenue goals through mission-critical relationship-building and donor stewardship. She looks forward to driving the NCCHC Foundation to the next level and strengthening its mission – to champion the correctional health care field and serve the public by supporting research, professional education, scholarships, and patient reentry.

Look for them at the Spring Conference on Correctional Health Care, April 29-May 2, in New Orleans.
