Outstanding Second Quarter Shows Importance of CCHP Program

Certified Correctional Health Professional status was attained by 169 individuals in the second quarter of 2023, representing the best second quarter recorded. Specialty certification was earned by three mental health professionals (CCHP-MH), four clinical providers (physician, NP, PA) (CCHP-CP), and six registered nurses (CCHP-RN).

“With the continued scrutiny on correctional health care, facilities across the country are really seeing the value of educating their employees and having them certified,” says Matissa Sammons, MA, CCHP, vice president of certification. “Our second quarter CCHP class represented 39 states across the country, showing the breadth of interest in the program.”

The CCHP board of trustees congratulates them all. The certifications were effective July 1, 2023.
